Welcome!
We are excited to invite third-year medical students who are strongly considering Neurology—or who have already chosen it as their specialty—to participate in our Residency Preparation Workshop during the Georgia Neurological Society Annual Meeting on March 27th, 2026.
This workshop was first launched last year and quickly became one of the most valuable and well-received events of the conference for students. The session brings together Program Directors and Associate Program Directors from Emory, MCG, and Morehouse for a highly conversational and informative Q&A-style discussion.
What to Expect
Our faculty leaders and residency program directors will share insights on:
- The soft skills and professional qualities programs look for
- Approaching board exams and academic expectations
- Highlights of their respective neurology residency programs
- Strategies for becoming a strong applicant
- Advice on career development and navigating medical school
We’re also joined by Dr. Athni, who oversees the conference and brings extensive expertise in the residency application process.
In addition, current fourth-year medical students will help introduce:
- ERAS basics
- Letters of recommendation
- Crafting your application strategically
- General guidance on the residency process from the student perspective
This workshop is designed to help you feel informed, confident, and prepared as you move toward your neurology residency journey.
